You may already be active in one or more of these areas but if you’re looking at new ways to develop your equity release business, or changing your existing strategy, here are five marketing ideas to help you:
- Take the time to select those on your database who are aged 35 to 54 and send them an email/letter about the possibilities of equity release for their parents/themselves – this is the great ‘influencer’ group which is well worth nurturing.
- Communicate equity release case* studies to your database via your quarterly email/newsletter to encourage understanding and to bring equity release into the mainstream.
- Most sources of equity release referral business are other brokers, solicitors and accountants, so it’s easy to ignore the less obvious routes - like estate agents. There are downsizers who can't sell at present, who simply take their property off the market – the estate agent could be passing you those leads.
- Clubs, many of which can be found simply by going to your county council website, often welcome specialist speakers from all walks of life. Look at Probus www.ukprobus.org, with over 1500 clubs across the UK catering for retired professional business people. You’ve already contacted the bowls club, of course.
- Log on to your local Business Link web-site at www.businesslink.gov.uk. They can help with access to clear, simple and trustworthy information plus free courses on a variety of subjects on how to improve your business performance.
