Retirement Plus launches educational equity release website

Retirement Plus today launches an impartial new website, aimed at educating consumers about all aspects of equity release in the UK.

www.whatisequityrelease.com takes a comprehensive and balanced look at equity release. The website includes information about the different products available, answers the questions that most commonly arise when customers decide to release equity from their properties and offers suggestions on where to go for further independent advice.

Additionally, www.whatisequityrelease.com manages customer expectations of what their financial adviser will be able to do for them. The site also informs customers of what information their financial adviser will need from them in order to better assess their suitability for an equity release scheme.

Duncan Young, CEO said: “Our success with the development of a generic equity release website for the Elderly Accommodation Council strongly identified the need for a website such as www.whatisequityrelease.com.

“This website will help brokers with their need to educate and inform their clients and highlights our dedication to provide the equity release market with impartial, clear information.”

Brokers who would like a free link-button to link their website to www.whatisequityrelease.com can email marketing@retirement-plus.co.uk.

Editor’s notes
Retirement Plus is a Milton Homes Ltd company. The Retirement Plus Property Plan is a home reversion plan which allows UK residents aged 65 or older to receive full market value for a share of their property at the start of the plan, in return for which they grant Retirement Plus an option to acquire an increasing beneficial share in the property over the life of the Plan. Significantly, this product means the owner can release their share of the property over time, rather than giving up the full amount at inception (as is the case with a standard home reversion). The homeowner can also elect to retain a “protected share” of the property.

Retirement Plus is authorised and regulated by the FSA and is a member of SHIP, the body which is dedicated entirely to the protection of planholders and to the promotion of safe home income and equity release plans. Retirement Plus only accepts business from customers who have received advice from brokers registered with the Financial Services Authority.
